Bocconea
This series represents supplementary volumes of Flora Mediterranea, a
journal published by ´The Herbarium Mediterraneum` on behalf of OPTIMA and the support of
various Organizations. It includes monographies and other major works on Mediterranean
botanical subjects. Bocconea is dedicated to Paolo (Silvio) Boccone (1633-1704), a famous
Sicilian botanist and naturalist, one of the founding fathers of Mediterranea botany. He
published in 1697 the "Museo di piante rare" where are described and illustrated
a great number of plants from several Mediterranean countries.
